Write out what you understand your child’s diagnosis to be.
Read every book, every magazine article, and every reputable website on Autism.
(In order for parents to help their child and family live with autism, you must be informed on various aspects of autism).
Next, get your child in an early intervention program that may include the following services, but are not limited to these services:
Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy Psychological Services, Counseling, SSDI (Check with Social Security to see if you qualify financially) and Respite Care.
The key to success is to get your child diagnosed at an early age(between ages 1½- 5 years of age), so that early treatment can begin.
